12. Entry Requirement

 

Matriculation / University Foundation Course

i) University Basic Requirements

  • A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia/SPM (Malaysian Certificate of Education) or equivalent with good result.

  • A pass with credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level/equivalent.

  • Passed Ministry of Education Certificate/University Malaya Fundamentals Science
    Course with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and a pass in all core subjects.

  • Passed the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).


ii) Specific Requirements of Programme

  • A minimum pass with at least Grade C (2.00) in Mathematics; and at least Grade C (2.00) in ONE (1) of these subjects:

    • Chemistry
    • Physics
    • Biology

  • A credit in Mathematics at SPM/equivalent.

  • Pass the assessment and interview conducted by the University.

  • Passed an interview and MEdSI test.


STPM

i) University Basic Requirements

  • A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia with good result.

  • A credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at SPM/equivalent.

  • Passed STPM with at least:

    • Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in General Study
    • Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in TWO (2) other subjects
  • Passed the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)


ii) Specific Requirements of Programme

  • At least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in Mathematics T and a minimum pass with at least Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in ONE (1) of these subjects:

    • Advanced Mathematics T
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
    • Biology
  • A pass in Mathematics with credit at SPM/equivalent .
  • Passed the assessment and interview conducted by the University .
  • Passed an interview and MEdSI test.


Diploma

i) University Basic Requirements

  • A pass in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or equivalent with credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia.

  • Diploma or any equivalent recognised by the Malaysian Government and approved by the University Senate; and

  • Passed the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).


ii) Specific Requirements of Programme

  • Diploma holders from UTM or any recognized institution with minimum CGPA 2.50 or other diploma recognized by the Malaysian Government which are related to the program and approved by the UTM Senate with a minimum CGPA 2.50; or

  • Candidates with CGPA below than 2.50 and above 2.30 with two years of relevant working experience may apply.

  • A credit in Mathematics at SPM/equivalent or minimum Grade C in any Mathematics subject at diploma levels.

  • Candidates are required to submit certified copies of diploma and its full transcripts and a letter confirming the completion of study by authority of awarding institution.

  • Passed an interview and MEdSI test.

    Note: Entry year and actual study duration will be based on credits transfer approved by UTM
